Hourly-cost maintenance provider Jet Support Services (JSSI) was selected by Canadian Helicopter operator Blackcomb Aviation to provide coverage for the Turbomeca Arrius 2B2plus engines on the company’s Airbus Helicopters EC135T2e. The premium service selected by Blackcomb covers the powerplants’ scheduled and unscheduled events as well as life-limited components.
“The ability to accurately predict the maintenance costs for these engines, even when unexpected events occur, is important to us,” said Jonathan Burke, the Vancouver-based company’s president and CEO. “As the only independent provider of these types of programs JSSI also acts as Blackcomb’s advocate whenever maintenance is required.”
“Predictable maintenance budgets are difficult to maintain for any helicopter operation, and our programs are designed to provide just that,” said rotorcraft industry veteran Ray Weiser, who recently joined JSSI as helicopter program specialist, “and [there is] the added benefit of 24/7 technical advisor services.”
JSSI announced earlier this year that it plans to increase the profile of its rotorcraft support services, which it has provided since 1995, with more programs to be introduced in the coming months.
