Content Body

A Beechcraft 1900 crashed shortly after takeoff from Miami Executive Airport (TMB) on February 11, killing all four people aboard. The Venezuelan-registered aircraft departed the airport at approximately 2:45 p.m. local time when the crew reported an engine failure and their plan to return to the airport. Eyewitnesses said they saw the aircraft in a nose-high attitude just before it struck low-level power lines and trees. The turboprop twin burst into flames and broke into two pieces as it hit the ground. Clear skies and light winds prevailed at the time of the crash. The 1900 was reportedly at Miami Executive for a routine maintenance check and to pick up several aircraft parts before departing for Providenciales International Airport in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
