Six aircraft still remain trapped under the wreckage of a 15,000-sq-ft hangar that collapsed at Wichita Col. James Jabara Airport early Friday morning, as the city was lashed by a windstorm that brought gusts of more than 100 miles per hour. Among the aircraft pinned is a King Air 350 belonging to fractional operator Executive AirShare.

While company president and CEO Keith Plumb said he is not permitted to get close to the unstable structure, based on the visible damage to the turboprop, he believes it would more than likely be considered a constructive total loss. An additional five aircraft were in the hangar belonging to Midwest Corporate Aviation at the time of the collapse, according to the FBO, including what appeared to be a green King Air 350. A spokesperson from Textron Aviation also acknowledged that the company had several aircraft stored temporarily at Jabara Airport that were affected by the storm damage. After the restoration of power and the clean-up of scattered debris, the airport reopened on Friday afternoon.
