Content Body

EBAA and NBAA are offering the International Aircraft Transactions Seminar at EBACE next week to provide attendees with an in-depth review of the key tax, legal and regulatory issues involved in a business aircraft transaction. The seminar, to be held all day on Monday, May 18, at the Geneva Palexpo center, will feature experts on aircraft financing, sales transactions, emerging European tax issues, ownership structures and aircraft registry, as well as provide an overview of the current business aircraft market.

One of the highlights will be the panel on taxation of business aircraft in the European Union, which is a complex and rapidly changing issue. At this session, aviation tax attorneys Grant Atchison of Equiom and Laura Pierallini of Studio Pierallini will explain recent policy clarifications on aircraft importation and customs issues and unique taxation in EU states, with Italy slated to be covered in depth.

The event will be capped by an overview of the business aircraft market, presented by Jay Mesinger of Mesinger Jet Sales, Steve Varsano of The Jet Business and Rollie Vincent of JetNet iQ. The trio plans to discuss how plummeting oil prices, the strong dollar and rapidly changing market conditions in certain regions are creating opportunities in the global market.
