Content Body

Vector Aerospace is adding a new engine test cell at its Summerside facility in Prince Edward Island, Canada, thanks in part to a financing partnership with provincial and federal governments. The new multimillion-dollar test cell, which will be capable of supporting turboprops producing up to 5,000 shp, will join three existing test stands at Summerside—two dedicated to turboprops and one to turbofans.

The new cell will expand Vector’s local test capacity for turboprop engines, thus minimizing turn-around times for its customers. Vector also announced a lease extension on its Summerside facility with Slemon Park Corp, where it employs 440 people. Vector Aerospace holds approvals to support turboshafts, turboprops and turbofans from GE Aviation, Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Rolls-Royce and Turbomeca.
