Nesterov Aviation, Pilatus’s authorized sales and service center in Russia, announced plans to open a dedicated maintenance facility for the PC-12NG turboprop single in St. Petersburg. The aircraft is making its Russian debut this week at JetExpo 2015, which is being held at Moscow Vnukovo Airport.
The company, which was appointed the exclusive Russian sales agent for the PC-12 in February, has taken delivery of one of the Swiss-made aircraft with a view to reselling it to a local buyer. The aircraft on show at JetExpo features the Jubilee paint scheme by Swiss artist Hans Erni.
“We see great opportunities for this turboprop given that there are no restrictions on single-engine operations in Russia,” said Nesterov general director Eugene Okladnikov. The company believes that the PC-12NG’s ability to operate from short, unprepared runways will be a particular advantage for Russian customers.
The company has yet to confirm when the new PC-12 service center will open.
