FBO and charter operator Rectrix Aviation observed its 10th year anniversary at its flagship facility and headquarters on Hanscom Field in Bedford, Mass., on Thursday. Joining Rectrix CEO Richard Cawley at the ceremony were Massport CEO Thomas Glynn, hockey greats Bobby Orr and Derek Sanderson and Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker.

Founded with one FBO in 2005, Rectrix now operates facilities in Hyannis, Worcester and Westfield, Mass., as well as Sarasota, Fla. In 2009, Rectrix obtained global jet charter operating authority for 10 or more passenger seats with the purchase of New World Jet Corp. This charter operation, rebranded as Rectrix Aviation, enabled the company to offer Part 135 transportation in its own fleet of Learjet 45s and Challenger 300s at Rectrix Aerodrome Center private terminals.

Rectrix recently joined the FAA’s Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) administered by the Air Charter Safety Foundation, becoming one of only a handful of charter operators to take part in the program. ASAP is a non-punitive system for employees to report aviation safety concerns without fear of FAA or company retaliation.
