Trego-Dugan Aviation, the lone service provider at Central Nebraska Regional Airport (GRI), held the grand opening of its FBO facility today in Grand Island. The Phillips 66-branded location offers a plush pilot's lounge, A/V-equipped conference room and weather and computer service amenities, along with airline ground handling, avionics installation and a Part 145 repair station.
“In constructing our new facility in Grand Island we were able to use the information we’ve acquired throughout the years operating as a Platinum Argus charter operator to design a facility that caters to the specific needs from a passenger’s perspective,” said Vincent Dugan, president of the family-owned company, which has operated an FBO at its headquarters at North Platte Regional Airport for the past 50 years.
Held over from the previous facility is Rocket Bob, a popular statue of a 10-foot-tall wooden figure riding a Learjet, which has been a presence at GRI for nearly 30 years. Staff member and artist Jean Cook refurbished it to its original finish for the occasion of the facility’s completion.
