Global Jet Capital, the business aircraft financing specialist founded in 2014, is planning to bolsterits staff to expand its international reach. The company recently hired Dave Labrozzi, the former president of GE Capital’s Corporate Aircraft segment, to serve as COO and now plans to recruit about 13 more business aviation origination experts. Most of the new additions will be based outside the U.S., Global Jet Capital said, noting that about 225 midsize to large-cabin business jets are bought outside of the Americas every year, representing a requirement of more than $7.25 billion in finance.

Global Jet Capital recently boosted its portfolio in the Americas significantly with the acquisition of GE’s corporate aircraft leasing and loan book in those regions. That portfolio was valued at more than $2 billion.

“Since our launch, we have experienced strong growth and now have a significant number of aircraft on our books representing multiple models across all manufacturers,” said Global Jet Capital executive director Shawn Vick. “However, nearly all are based in North America. We currently have well over $1 billion available for lending and leasing solutions, and we now need to place a greater focus on other geographical markets.”
