OneJet, which offers per-seat service using Hawker 400XPs under Part 135 with DOT Part 298 economic authority, announced that Pittsburgh will be one of its bases of operation. This will result in the addition of five new nonstop regional air service destinations from Pittsburgh International Airport this year, starting May 9 with weekday service between Pittsburgh and Hartford, Conn. In addition, OneJet will have Pittsburgh-domiciled aircraft and employees.
The company entered the Pittsburgh market in May last year and currently provides service to and from Indianapolis and Milwaukee. OneJet said it plans to announce four more destinations from this market in the second quarter.
“Our decision to expand operations here follows the overwhelming response we’ve seen from Pittsburgh’s largest corporations and the business travel community in the region,” said OneJet CEO Matthew Maguire. According to the company, OneJet provides service for more than 10 Fortune 500 companies, including FedEx, with booking available through Expedia, Carlson Wagonlit and BCD Travel. Business aviation charter operator Pentastar Aviation Charter conducts the flights for OneJet.
