Savoy, Ill.-based avionics sales and service, MRO, FBO and charter/management firm Flightstar has received STC approval to install a single Universal Avionics UNS-1Ew FMS with LPV capability in the Learjet 40/45. This STC enables Learjet 40/45 operators to add Waas GPS and LPV approach capability without adding a second FMS. It also meets the GPS position source requirements for ADS-B OUT upgrades.


“Our solution [gives] single-FMS Learjet 40 and Learjet 45 aircraft a more cost-friendly option that allows owners to add full LPV functionality,” said avionics sales manager Greg Vail.


Flightstar completed the entire project and all flight testing at its facility in Savoy, which is a Bombardier-authorized service facility for the Learjet 40/45 and 70/75.
