Content Body

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) this week issued Third Country Operator (TCO) approval to the Aruba operational center of aircraft management and charter group Comlux. Comlux Aruba, which is part of the Fly Comlux group of AOC holders, has been cleared to operate the company’s VIP Boeing 767 widebody in compliance with European Union (EU) safety standards. This will reduce the amount of time it needs to get operating approvals for specific flights.

The EASA TCO is based on a European Commission initiative to allow commercial operators from outside the EU to obtain a single safety authorization for anyone flying within, to or from the EU. According to Switzerland-based Comlux, the TCO approval is becoming a mandatory prerequisite to obtain operating permits for commercial operations to and from EASA member states and this approval for Comlux Aruba covers the 767 and the rest of its charter fleet.
