Content Body

The NTSB issued a preliminary report on the March 1 landing incident involving a NetJets Phenom 300 that sustained “minor damage to the wing leading edges” after colliding with runway lights during its landing roll on snow-contaminated Runway 9L at Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD). The pilot and copilot were uninjured in the Part 91K positioning flight, which was operating on an IFR flight plan.

Weather reported at ORD at about the time of the incident (noon) included wind 350 degrees at 19 knots and visibility three-quarters to one mile in snow and mist. The flight originated at ORD bound for the nearby Chicago Executive Airport, but inclement weather caused a missed approach and the airplane returned to ORD.

This incident is one of the few mishaps to aircraft while operating under fractional regulations since compliance with FAR Part 91K was required in 2005.
