Argus International has integrated Pulsar Informatics’ Aviation Fatigue Meter into the mobile application for Argus's Prism Armor Safety Management System (Prism) division. The meter has already been a part of Prism’s web-based SMS toolbox for the past several years. It's a proprietary system that translates user raw data into actionable fatigue risk information, developed after years of research by sleep and fatigue specialists, according to Argus. The meter meets the ICAO definition of a fatigue risk management system (FRMS).
“Business aviation has struggled to accurately and effectively capture the fatigue problem, relying exclusively upon duty limits and static flight scheduling limitations,” noted Steve Witkowski, Argus Prism’s vice president for business aviation safety systems. “Prism can now move more operators beyond those limitations through the integration of the fatigue meter into our [flight risk analysis tool].”
“Customers using the Aviation Fatigue Meter routinely are reporting that crew awareness of fatigue risk, diligence to improve their sleep habits and willingness to nap have improved quite a bit,” said Pulsar Informatics COO Steve Bruneau.
