Daher announced a quick-change private lavatory option for new-production TBM 900s and 930s today at EAA AirVenture 2016. The “Elite Privacy” configuration, available starting next year, integrates a lavatory area in the TBM’s aft fuselage.

It serves as a bench-type seat with a low divider wall when not in use during flight and converts to a fully private toilet compartment at the touch of a button, which electronically deploys a multi-segment partition with a door for privacy. The compartment also includes a large mirror that automatically illuminates.

Built with lightweight composite materials and cabin soundproofing, the “Elite Privacy” compartment weighs 90 pounds and can be installed or removed by a maintenance technician in 30 minutes, converting the TBM cabin’s standard six-seat layout to a four-passenger configuration, and vice versa.

“This offers our operators a private, fully functional toilet compartment, which will be appreciated by pilot/owners who use the TBM’s long-range capabilities, and by the increasing number of charter operators that are performing commercial flights with the aircraft,” said Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice president of the Daher Airplane business unit.
