Pro Star Aviation has received an FAA approved model list (AML) STC for its ADS-B OUT solution for aircraft with Honeywell Primus II systems. According to the Manchester, N.H.-based company, the STC covers most business aircraft equipped with Honeywell Primus II radio suites, as well as Honeywell SPZ-8000, Primus 1000 and Primus 2000 flight control and display systems.

This includes the Cessna Citation 550 (II), 560 (V, Encore and Ultra), 560XL, 650 (III, VI and VII), and 750 (X); Bombardier Learjet 40 and 45, Challenger 601 and Global Express, 5000 and 6000; and Hawker 800 and 1000 series. “This STC addresses thousands of Primus II-equipped aircraft that had few choices available to meet the 2020 ADS-B mandates,” Pro Star said.

The STC addresses the replacement of the aging and unsupported RM 850 radio management units with enhanced RM 855 units, as well as the upgrade of the existing RCZ communication units. It also offers flexibility and choice when interfacing with the mandated WAAS GPS sensor; the Bendix King KGS-200 and Honeywell GNSSU (WAAS) units are currently approved, and a third option—the Universal WAAS FMS GPS—is expected to be approved in the fourth quarter.

Installations of the STC can be accomplished at Pro Star Aviation’s Manchester facility or at an operator’s home facility.
