Content Body

Aeroplex/Aerolease Group, which owns and manages hangar/office facilities at Van Nuys and Long Beach airports in southern California, is adding a new three-acre development at VNY. The $7.5million project will encompass 123,162 sq ft and joins the company’s existing six-acre property at VNY.

In addition to 38,000 sq ft of hangar space, the facility also adds 8,500 sq ft of shop, office and terminal space with conference, kitchen and lounge facilities, 55,000 sq ft of ramp and staging areas and a private, gated automobile parking lot. More than 100 jobs are expected to be created by the new development.

The new Aeroplex/Aerolease complex will open in March 2017. It honors the late Aeroplex/Aerolease Group founder Milton Widelitz, who also was instrumental in forming the non-profit Van Nuys Airport Association in 1982. “He was a strong supporter of preserving airport jobs and businesses, as well providing educational opportunities for future aviation professionals,” according to Aeroplex.
