Content Body

The 13th annual Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (LABACE) is set to open on Tuesday at São Paulo Conghonhas Airport. The three-day event is organized by Brazilian business aviation group ABAG, which believes that the industry is now set to resume a growth trend that has been interrupted by the country’s economic troubles. Brazilian companies received something of a boost from traffic drawn by this month’s Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, although the volumes recorded seem to have been somewhat lower than anticipated.

This year’s show has drawn almost 100 exhibitors (significantly down from the 200 reported last year) but, as usual, it will feature all the main business aircraft manufacturers such as Dassault, Textron (Cessna, Beechcraft and Bell), Embraer, Gulfstream and Pilatus. ABAG anticipates as many as 10,000 visitors for a show that follows the typical Brazilian pattern of starting at noon and continuing late into the night.
