The U.S. FAA has STC’d the Garmin G5000 avionics suite for retrofit in the Beechjet 400A/400XP, the company announced today. According to Garmin, the G5000 “modernizes the cockpit, increases aircraft utility, offers significant weight savings and provides operators with a solution to fulfill global next-generation airspace initiatives.” In addition, the upgrade for the light jet lowers the cost of operation and solves avionics parts obsolescence.

“Based on customer interest and the volume of early adopters, the response to this retrofit program has exceeded our expectations,” said Garmin vice president and managing director of aviation Phil Straub. “The G5000 offers an elevated level of situational awareness and advanced flight deck capabilities.”

The G5000 retrofit system for the Beechjet features three 12-inch flight displays, dual touchscreen display controllers, integrated autopilot, TAWS, ADS-B and weather radar. Capabilities include electronic charts, synthetic vision, PBN/RNP 0.3 with LPV/APV approaches, vertical navigation and flight level change modes.

Installations can be performed at “select” Garmin-authorized dealers.
