Indianapolis, Indiana-based bizliner completion and service center Comlux America said today that business has been brisk year-to-date and it expects to finish out the year “even stronger than it started.” So far this year, the facility has completed three VIP bizliners—an Airbus ACJ330, Boeing BBJ and Sukhoi SBJ—in addition to a “steady stream” of maintenance and upgrade projects that include three BBJs and an ACJ, with several more confirmed throughout this year.
“The beginning of 2016 included two BBJ clients, both based in the U.S., that required several modifications and various maintenance and warranty inspections,” Comlux America said. The second and third quarters brought an additional U.S.-based BBJ for aircraft interior upgrades, as well as an A320 based in Asia for heavy scheduled inspections and Service Bulletin work. Meanwhile, it added, the order book for MRO services in the second half is booked solid.
“Boeing and Airbus clients have expressed the need for alternative VIP maintenance options in the industry that offer a full pedigree of in-house engineering and back shop fabrication capabilities for their aging aircraft, with capability to update obsolete systems during their scheduled maintenance events. Comlux America offers this,” said Comlux America CEO Scott Meyer.
