Content Body

Hamburg, Germany-based Lufthansa Technik (LHT) announced today that its VIP and special mission aircraft services division has delivered the second completed BBJ to Middle East VIP charter operator Royal Jet. Like the initial BBJ that it outfitted for Royal Jet and delivered last month, LHT's second completion was finished on schedule in just nine months at its Hamburg facility.

The cabin was conceived by New York-based designer Edése Doret and is characterized by a “clear, minimalist esthetic style, equally combining geometric shapes and organic structures.” The dominant cabin elements were produced from modern materials, including carbon fiber, metal and plastic.

A highlight of the interior design is the starry sky, which consists of approximately 15,000 light points running across the ceiling throughout the entire cabin. The two aircraft are the first BBJs to be fitted with the Ka-band antenna system for satcom connectivity.

Both BBJs are configured for 34 passengers and include a bedroom, two bathrooms and two VIP lounge areas.
