Embraer Executive Jets delivered the first Legacy 450 assembled at its Melbourne, Florida plant today. The fly-by-wire midsize jet was delivered to an undisclosed U.S. customer, who traded up from an Embraer Phenom 300.
“We are pleased to meet customers’ changing needs throughout their journey with a broad product portfolio. The choice of the Legacy 450 by a Phenom 300 customer testifies to the best-in-class design of each of our aircraft,” said Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Marco Tulio Pellegrini.
The assembly of this twinjet began with the inauguration of the Melbourne plant expansion in June. A second Legacy 450 is already on the Melbourne assembly line and is scheduled for delivery to its customer in the first quarter of 2017.
Embraer will start assembling the first of its larger Legacy 500s at the Florida facility early next year, soon after the arrival of its fuselage from Embraer’s plant in Botucatu, Brazil, and its wings from Évora, Portugal. The Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 are also produced at Embraer’s plant in São José dos Campos, Brazil.
