Business aircraft maintenance, repair and completions group Duncan Aviation has completed a hangar renovation at its Battle Creek, Michigan location. The project transformed a former aircraft stripping hangar into a 12,000-sq-ft paint hangar that will increase both capacity and flexibility.
Duncan will be able to strip, paint and prime business aircraft as large as a Bombardier Global Express in the hangar thanks to a new computer-controlled sidedraft airflow system that also triple filters the air. In addition, the new hangar has adjustable and energy-efficient LED lighting.
“The new hangar is a great addition to our paint services in Battle Creek. Customers will see some additional paint capacity and more flexible scheduling," said Duncan Aviation paint manager Doug Bohac.
Duncan Aviation can paint approximately 100 aircraft a year at its Battle Creek and Lincoln, Nebraska facilities, which are both equipped for stripping, sanding, painting and detail work on aircraft such as the Gulfstream G550, Dassault Falcon 7X and Global Express. The company also has 20 additional maintenance and completions facilities throughout the U.S.
