Puerto Rican FBO Opens Co-located U.S. Customs Facility

The Pazos FBO at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, added a user-fee U.S. Customs facility for general aviation last week. The new general aviation facility was built in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) standards and guidelines to inspect international flights and travelers.

“CBP welcomes the opportunity to work with private sector with the goal of improving the traveler experience upon arrival into the U.S., increasing tourism and fostering economic growth,while ensuring the highest level of security,” said Marcelino Borges, CBP director of field operations in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

According to Pazos FBO services president Jose Maldonado, “Having CBP co-located within our new FBO will make entry into the U.S. a secured and pleasant experience for travelers. It will also shorten the time between disembarking from a private aircraft and entering CBP, while making the connection into the U.S. a seamless process.”
