MRO provider West Star Aviation has acquired Texas-based composite, structures and assembly repair shop Dallas Aeronautical Services (DAS). An FAA/EASA Part 145 repair station, DAS was founded in 2004 as an engineering and design firm to help find new ways to repair composite components. It specializes in the overhaul, repair and testing of thrust reversers, control surfaces, radomes, engine cowls, engine inlets, pylons and floor panels among other items, from all the major business jet manufacturers.
“Our partnership with DAS will help us cultivate our capabilities in composite repair services for our customers and help us continue as a true one-stop shop for maintenance needs,” said West Star president and COO Rodger Renaud.
DAS will continue to operate under its own brand, said DAS president Don Snodgrass.
