Canadian aviation services provider Skyservice last week completed its first 120-month and 180-month inspections on a customer's Bombardier Global 5000. According to the company, items from the 180-month inspection were added to the slate to avoid costly downtime and interior removal in another five years at the normal interval.
The inspection involved several upgrades to the aircraft, including the addition of ADS-B, ahead of the January 2020 TSO 260 B mandate. Several recommended and optional Service Bulletins were also completed during the aircraft’s shop visit, based on the easy access during the course of the inspections.
RAMM Aerospace, which has operations in the Skyservice Montreal facility, assisted with the interior removal and installation, along with interior upgrades to the carpet, cabin sidewalls and bulkhead coverings. In cooperation with Safran’s landing systems MRO in Oshawa and the airframer, the landing gear overhaul was completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
While the company has long been an authorized Bombardier service facility, it added the Global and Challenger lines to its offerings only over the past year.
