Textron’s TRU Simulation + Training business unit obtained FAA certification for its Cessna Citation Latitude and Sovereign+ pilot training program and is now accepting students at its TRU ProFlight Pilot Training Center in Tampa, Florida, the company announced yesterday. The FAA level-D Latitude/Sovereign+ simulator came online at the facility in March. Similarities and common type ratings of the aircraft allow pilots to train for both of the midsize business jets through the same program.
“The addition of the new Latitude/Sovereign+ training program is [another] step in offering a total training solution to Textron Aviation customers,” said TRU vice president of training centers David Smith. “We’ve received exceptional feedback on the program in the short time it has been available and achieved our first two customer type ratings within a week of launching the Citation Latitude program.”
Courses under the Latitude/Sovereign+ program include initial aircraft and initial type rating, recurrent and avionics introduction, as well as TRU’s online Current 365 continuous currency courses. In addition, TRU is offering a specialized course on the Latitude/Sovereign+’s Garmin G5000 integrated avionics system.
