FBO operator Avflight broke ground last month on a major upgrade on its FBO at Pennsylvania’s Harrisburg International Airport (MDT), where it is the sole aviation service provider. The first stage of the multimillion-dollar project, which is expected to be completed by the end of January 2018, consists of building a new 5,000-sq-ft contemporary-style private aviation terminal next to the commercial terminal. Amenities will include a conference room, kitchen, pilots' lounge, three snooze rooms, a catering kitchen and office space. The building will be across the street from a new hotel, which is currently under construction.
A second phase of the upgrade will add a 25,000-sq-ft hangar to accommodate the latest ultra-long-range business jets.
“These developments are a great opportunity for our FBO and our customers,” said Joe Meszaros, director of operations at the Avfuel-affiliated company. “We’ll be able to provide a more comfortable experience at KMDT to match our incomparable level of service.”
