Duncan Aviation has added mobile non-destructive testing (NDT) services at its Provo, Utah MRO. Thus, it is now able to provide a wide variety of NDT analyses, including eddy current, fluorescent penetrant, ultrasonic, magnetic particle and optical prism inspections.
“The Duncan Aviation NDT team is able to test nearly every surface of an aircraft and a near-limitless list of materials,” said Chad Doehring, the facility’s manager of airframe maintenance. “They are called to locate cracks in parts before they fail, evaluate areas of corrosion, as well as determining remaining thickness on materials.”
Ray Vieselmeyer, who has 17 years experience in NDT covering aircraft from large business jets such as the Global Express to Air Tractor agricultural airplanes, will head the mobile unit, which will serve the region, including Nevada, Idaho and New Mexico.
