VisionSafe’s Emergency Vision Assurance System (EVAS) has received STC approval for installation on the Dassault Falcon 8X. The system will be offered on factory-new models or as a retrofit on Dassault’s flagship trijet.

“Dassault continues to demonstrate its forward-thinking view by adding the 8X to the existing Falcon service advisory. Dassault has consolidated its protection offerings under a single advisory,” said VisionSafe vice president Jonathan Parker. “This is not just about the 8X. Dassault is expanding the Service Bulletin concept to include all the aircraft covered by the advisory and EVAS STC (Falcon 7X, 8X, 900, 2000 and 50 series).”

The FAA-certified EVAS helps ensure pilot vision in dense smoke. According to VisionSafe, the system enables pilots to see the flight path and instruments, as well as approach plates and emergency procedures, when smoke otherwise would obscure vision.

The system has been selected by all business jet manufacturers either as standard equipment or as an option on its aircraft, and more than 50 percent of the long-range fleet is equipped with EVAS, VisionSafe said. More than 5,000 EVAS systems are currently in service.
