FAA Administrator Michael Huerta is kicking off a series of high-level discussions scheduled during NATA’s Aviation Business Roundtable this week. The roundtable, to be held tomorrow and Wednesday at the Kimpton Palomar Hotel in Washington, D.C., is designed to bring together senior aviation leaders with business and government policy experts.
In addition to Huerta, the event will include a conversation with new FAA associate administrator for aviation safety Ali Bahrami, along with a reauthorization update from Rep. Rick Larsen (D-Washington), the senior Democrat on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and Rep. Steve Russell (R-Oklahoma), a member of the House General Aviation Caucus.
The event further will tackle the contentious issue of FBO pricing, with AOPA’s general counsel Ken Mead, AAAE’s Joel Bacon and representatives from fueling companies and FBOs discussing fuel pricing, ramp fees and other aeronautical services, industry consolidation, the airport sponsor-tenant relationship and the customer perspective.
Other topics scheduled for the roundtable include trends in the MRO market and the role of OEMs, an industry overview and market forecast and business aircraft emissions/alternative fuels.
