With the turn of the calendar to 2018, USAIG is celebrating its 90th anniversary as an insurer to the aviation industry. The company was founded in 1928 by Reed Chambers and David Beebe, two former World War I aviators who saw the requirement for an insurance company that fully understood the needs of aviation. That July, they established the United States Aircraft Insurance Group, along with United States Aviation Underwriters (USAU), which remain intact nine decades later, generating the capacity to cover any size aviation or aerospace exposure.

“The USAIG family is extremely proud and committed to upholding the company’s strong reputation and high standards for underwriting and claims excellence we’ve been maintaining and building on that solid foundation ever since,” said John Brogan, who assumed the role of USAIG's CEO last year after serving as president and COO of USAU, supervising all of the company's underwriting and claims operations. “I am honored to guide USAIG into the future as we continue to find new ways to provide our customers with the best aviation insurance coverage by responding to the challenges of a dynamic business environment.”

As part of its anniversary celebration, the company will be launching several new initiatives over the coming months. USAIG is already well known for its safety posters, which are included quarterly in print issues of Aviation International News, and its Performance Vector program, which offers safety training benefits for turbine aircraft operators.
