CBAA 2018 To Address Bizav Pilot Shortage

The Canadian Business Aviation Association (CBAA) will address labor market issues at its annual convention in Waterloo, Ontario, in mid-June, it announced today. “This is a critical issue for our members, and our national convention is a perfect way to bring our community together to focus on challenges and map out solutions,” said CBAA president and CEO Jim Facette.

Aviation labor experts will discuss issues and strategies to deal with pilot shortages, recruitment, retirement, and succession planning, among others. Delegates will also be able to share their views on what CBAA should be doing to help its members cope with a dwindling labor pool.

This will be only one of a number of topics presented at CBAA 2018, which the association said “offers a wide range of targeted educational sessions, workshops, plenaries, and professional development programming.”

About 700 visitors are expected to attend the CBAA convention, which features an exhibit showcasing more than 80 aviation suppliers and a static display of business aircraft. The exhibit and static will be held at the Chartright Group FBO at the Region of Waterloo International Airport from June 12 to 14.
