Jetscape Services, one of four FBOs at Florida’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), has expanded its facility with the addition of a 370,000-sq-ft former private flight department property. Included in the acquisition are three hangars totaling 70,000 sq ft, 19,000 sq ft of office space, and another 6.5 acres of ramp space.
In addition there is also 10,000 sq ft of undeveloped space, which can be customized to suit individual business requirements.
“We have acquired the largest hangar in FLL, capable of storing BBJss and ACJs," noted Troy Menken, president of the Air Elite member location. “We’re calling the facility Jetscape Alpha, as it is located off [Taxiway] A-4 on the north side of the airport. This expansion gives us a strategic position, along with the development of 25 acres for a brand-new FBO site.”
This summer, the company plans to break ground on a multimillion-dollar FBO complex on the west side of the airport. It will include a new 27,000-sq-ft terminal, which will replace the service provider’s current passenger facility on the north side, and a pair of 40,000-sq-ft hangars. The former terminal building will be returned to the airport, according to Menken. When completed by the summer 2019, the addition will bring the location up to 160,000 of aircraft storage space.
