Malaysian helicopter fleet operator Weststar Aviation Services has signed a 13-year agreement with Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) that will cover the engines on its fleet of 22 Leonardo Helicopters AW139s.

The fleet management program (FMP) on the 44 PT6C-67C engines includes tailored main base parts kitting to allow for rapid access and guaranteed turnaround times for service. According to P&WC (Booth C4432), its FMP is a customized engine-management solution that helps lock in lower operating costs and simplifies fleet-operations management.

“Increasingly, program personalization encompasses what we term ‘enhanced availability services,’ an example of which is to offer line replacement unit availability solutions at the customer’s location for immediate use,” said Timothy Swail, the engine maker’s vice president of customer programs. “We are also offering guaranteed turnaround times to customers such as Weststar.”
