Honeywell announced the first installations of its JetWave satcom hardware on business aircraft based in Africa, with ExecuJet South Africa outfitting the system on a Bombardier Global Express and Challenger 604 at its Johannesburg base. JetWave delivers access to Inmarsat's Jet Connex Ka-band satellite communications network, which provides enough bandwidth for onboard video streaming and online video conferencing, Honeywell said.
"ExecuJet South Africa is committed to delivering best-in-class aviation services, and we recognize the importance of reliable in-flight connectivity to heighten the passenger experience and modernize flight operations," said ExecuJet South Africa MRO business development manager Warwick Stone. "We look forward to continuing to work with Honeywell to provide our customers with reliable, global, high-speed in-flight Wi-Fi."
The South African aviation services company is also among the first to offer "fly away" installations of the JetWave hardware on “select aircraft platforms.” Under this program, ExecuJet South Africa offers turnkey installations that can be done in less than 15 days, reducing aircraft downtime. Honeywell's JetWave is the exclusive hardware for business aircraft to connect to the Jet Connex network.
