Bombardier yesterday announced Danny Di Perna as the company’s aerospace COO, effective September 15. In his new position, Di Perna will report directly to Bombardier president and CEO Alain Bellemare and assume responsibility for leading the company’s aerospace engineering, procurement, and transformation functions. He will also oversee Bombardier’s Aerostructures and Engineering Services segment.

According to Bellemare, Di Perna will also work closely with Bombardier Business Aircraft president David Coleal, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft president Fred Cromer, Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services president Michael Ryan, and the rest of the senior leadership team. “Danny will also play a key role in optimizing our aerospace engineering and product development capabilities to ensure long-term sustainable growth,” said Bellemare.

Di Perna has more than 30 years of aerospace and industrial experience, most recently serving as vice president of global sourcing for GE Power. He previously held a number of senior leadership positions at Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Sundstrand, and Air Canada Technical Services. Di Perna began his career at Pratt & Whitney Canada, where he held positions of increasing responsibility within engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
