Content Body

The Aeronautical Repair Station Association (ARSA) is making available an online training session on the Transportation Security Administration’s repair station security rule. Adopted in 2014, the rule applies to repair stations located on or adjacent to airports, requiring a designated point of contact for the TSA, restricted access to aircraft weighing more than 12,500 pounds and capable of flight, background verifications, and record-keeping.

This training session will provide information on remaining compliant with security mandates. Obadal, Filler, MacLeod & Klein, P.L.C., the firm that manages ARSA, provides the training.

Registration with the program provides 90-day access to the on-demand recording with unlimited views, as well as digital copies of presentations and associated reference material. A certificate is provided once the class is completed. The class is available for $75 for ARSA members and $150 for non-members.

In addition to the training program, ARSA recently released a fact sheet on repair station security to serve as a resource to help the policymakers and the public understand how security rules apply to certified maintenance facilities. According to ARSA, the fact sheet should be used by the maintenance community and other interested stakeholders alongside the association's other security-related resources.
