Tamarack Aerospace (Booth 1663) has received Mexican DGAC approval for its Atlas active winglet system. This is in addition to previous approvals from EASA, FAA, ANAC and Transport Canada. Separately, the company said that it had just delivered its 75th set of active winglets, which are being installed on Cessna CitationJet. The active winglets are approved for installation via STC on CitationJet through CJ3+ models.
The active winglet system is comprised of wingtip extension, tuned winglet, wing loading sensors, and moveable load alleviation surface. The load alleviation system counteracts gust or maneuver induced wing loading. Active winglets do not incur the weight penalty and require the structural reinforcement of passive systems, improve fuel economy, and aircraft performance.
