Weather information product provider Baron has launched Baron Weather API for Aviation website, which the Huntsville, Alabama-based company says allows for the easy integration of weather data into a range of devices including location-based smartphone and tablet apps, websites, desktop applications, and electronic flight bags. The customizable development platform includes a renovated documentation area with improved organization and faster access, according to Baron.
It also offers more customer dashboard features and a convenient key display that enables developers to use Baron Weather API with any coding language to track current conditions, view forecast conditions, or access historical data.
Other data products available from private and public sources include satellite imagery; satellite-derived radar exclusive to Baron that provides weather data when no ground-based radar is available; significant weather; winds and temperatures aloft; and a lightning map that can display individual strikes or as a heat map showing the location of the most intense lightning activity.
