EMS specialist Bucher Leichtbau highlighted at Heli-Expo 2020 its recently developed H135 HEMS AC67 flex, which enables helicopters to switch from VIP, law enforcement, cargo, fire suppression, or military interiors to an EMS configuration—or back—in less than 30 minutes, according to the Swiss company. Incorporating a quick-release system and a modular design, operators can add medical equipment from a menu of options when needed, and the flex can also be upgraded into Bucher’s dedicated AC67 HEMS interior.

Flex-configuration options include helicopter intensive care medical with three medical crew seats and a stretcher system; helicopter emergency medical services with two medical crew seats and a stretcher system; and, for disaster management, two medical crew seats and a dual stretcher system. Up to five medical crew seats can be accommodated under the flex options, along with components including a detachable equipment wall, hot compartment, control panel for regulating oxygen supply, and stowage units. All the flex installations and change-outs are covered by a single STC.

Bucher also showcased its dedicated EMS configurations at the show, including the H135 HEMS and H145 HEMS, both incorporating the first modular stretcher system approved by EASA for use under all flight conditions. All the EMS offerings from the family-owned company, founded in 1953, can be tailored to operators’ individual needs with type-specific designs, CEO Beat Bucher told AIN
