AirMed International has added another medically configured Hawker twinjet to its fleet. The Hawker 800XP will join the air ambulance provider’s two other company owned and operated Hawker jets at Birmingham International Airport in Alabama.

Scheduled to enter service this month, N864AM will be crewed by two pilots, a registered nurse and respiratory therapist, and, if needed, medical doctor. It is configured for far-ranging medical transports and has an onboard liquid oxygen system, eliminating the need to replenish onboard oxygen supplies for transporting ventilator-dependent patients.

“The addition of this dedicated medically equipped aircraft demonstrates our commitment to reinvesting in our airborne assets and exceptionally trained medical and aviation personnel,” said AirMed president Denise Treadwell. “We are making these added investments so that we can continue to provide the highest quality medical care to our patients and AirMed International members.”

In addition to the Hawkers, AirMed’s fleet includes medically-configured Beechjets and King Airs that are based in San Antonio and Las Vegas, as well as four Learjet 35/36s for non-emergency transports.
