Citing a nearly doubled membership base since April, on-demand charter provider XO is adding 15 Cessna Citation V Ultras, a 30 percent fleet expansion, to answer the call for light jets to fly short-haul trips to non-hub airports. As a result of the additional light jets gained through its acquisition of Red Wing Aviation in Wisconsin, XO's dedicated fleet of light and super-midsize twinjets will soon number 58.
"This is an important chapter in XO's growth and an immediate benefit for its clients, providing XO Members access to a new agile service, at the high standards that Vista Global is renowned for, on the ground and in the air,” said Thomas Flohr, founder and chairman of Vista Global, XO’s parent company.
XO also plans to add more Ultras, along with another variant of the Model 560, the Citation Encore, a spokeswoman told AIN. They will join a fleet that includes Citation Xs and Bombardier Challenger 300s operated by sister company XOJet Aviation. Additionally, XO members have access to Vista Global’s fleet of 130 Challengers and large-cabin Bombardier Globals and its managed fleet of more than 2,100 aircraft.
