Aviation medical and security companies MedAire and Aerosafety are demonstrating MedAire’s medical emergency MedLink service with live incoming calls and its Digital Assessment Kit (DAK) this week at LABACE 2023. Aerosafety is also celebrating its 25th anniversary at the show, which runs through Thursday at São Paulo Congonhas Airport.

Medaire has been a shareholder of Brazil-based Aerosafety since 2013, which has helped the U.S. company expand distribution of its products and services in the Brazilian commercial and business aviation markets. Together, the companies serve the Brazilian market with emergency equipment sales, testing, and repair and medical, security, and consulting services.

"We are excited to join the LABACE community again this year and share our innovative products and services with attendees, including our MedLink and our latest DAK technology," said MedAire global director of aviation health Dr. Paulo Alves. "MedLink is the pioneer of preflight and inflight medical services, with live access to expert emergency physicians…trained in aviation medicine and altitude physiology. This combination makes MedLink unique and equipped to assist callers needing medical advice worldwide.”

MedAire's MedLink manages thousands of passenger fit-to-fly assessments and in-flight medical events every year, with access to critical care nurses for pre-boarding advice regarding the health of passengers. In the air, dedicated MedLink doctors are available to advise and assist flight crew to prevent medical situations from escalating or cope with them as they occur.

The DAK was designed to provide accurate and reliable diagnostic results, to help improve the assessment process, according to MedAire, with a 12-lead ECG recorder that provides information for doctors to assess heart conditions. Visitors can view live DAK demonstrations with a medical mannikin at the MedAire/Aerosafety stand during LABACE.

Aerosafety, whose life raft-bedecked stands are familiar sights at Brazilian aviation shows, has supplied more than 20,000 emergency kits to airlines and business and general aviation companies. The company’s specialties include inspection and repair of Inflatables, hydrostatic cylinder testing and regulator overhaul, and oxygen mask testing on its crew mask and stowage box test bench. With various Brazil, EASA, and U.S. approvals, Aerosafety holds service and distribution authorization for products made by Collins Aerospace, Winslow Life Raft, EAM Worldwide, Switlik Parachute, and AVI Survival Products.
