First-time LABACE exhibitor Bradesco Leasing is far from a newcomer to the fair, having often been a master sponsor and having had representatives working with manufacturers and importers during the event.
Bradesco Leasing is part of Banco Bradesco, Brazil’s largest private bank. The bank finances imported aircraft and has captured more than 50 percent of the market, according to Bradesco Leasing manager Bruno Vilarinho.
What Bradesco Leasing does, he explained, is financial leasing, and only in the Brazilian real currency, “providing high-value financing, paid over a long term.” He added that other parts of the bank can handle different types of lease financing in various currencies.
The bank also works with Brazilian development bank BNDES to finance farm equipment, which includes agricultural aviation. Vilarinho described that credit model as a hybrid: “BNDES provides the capital, and the bank takes on the credit risk.”
While being on the ground this week at LABACE is important for the short term, Vilarinho described the event as a “fair of relationships. If someone decides to buy today, it will be one to three years until he takes delivery. He only signs leasing with me when he’s near delivery.”
