Content Body

Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) is focused on reducing loss of control inflight (LOC-I) this week at NBAA-BACE 2023. To make this happen, the company is spotlighting its collaboration with aviation safety auditors Aviation Safety Compliance, Aviation Safety Solutions, Safety Operating Systems, and Wyvern to develop upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) programs to combat LOC-I, which APS describes as being the aviation industry's primary fatal threat.

These UPRT programs are “Every Pilot In Control Solution Standard” (EPIC-S2) compliant.

“Our mission at APS is clear: ‘We help pilots bring everyone home safely,’” said APS CEO Paul ‘BJ’ Ransbury. “Joining forces to enhance aviation safety through risk management is a testament to our collective dedication to the aviation community. Our commitment underscores our aim to equip every operator in the skies with the skills and knowledge to navigate unforeseen challenges."

APS is showcasing its turnkey UPRT solutions and its safety auditor partners at NBAA-BACE. Visitors to APS's booth can also experience a complimentary virtual-reality UPRT session featuring LOC-I risks related to circle-to-land approaches, as well as a firsthand experience of EPIC-S2 UPRT’s relevance, power, and effectiveness.

Ransbury added that APS is opening its doors at its world headquarters at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (KIWA) for guided tours next month. These tours will include a look at APS’s hangar, fleet of 10 airplanes—SIAI-Marchetti S211s and Extra 300s—used for UPRT training, simulation training devices for seven airplane classes, and virtual reality/mixed reality UPRT session sampling on a wide range of piston, turboprop, business jet, and airliner models.
