The Embraer Phenom 100EX makes its NBAA-BACE debut.
Content Body

Embraer is displaying its new Phenom 100EX along with the Phenom 300E and Praetor 500 and 600 business jets at this year’s NBAA-BACE. All four aircraft flew into Las Vegas’ Henderson Executive Airport on a blend of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), emphasizing the company’s commitment to low-emission technologies, which also include electric, hybrid-electric, and hydrogen propulsion.

Embraer said its commitment to sustainability includes employing more efficient manufacturing such as the fundamentals and concepts of the Toyota Production System (TPS), currently employed on the wings of the company’s line of commercial E-Jets. TPS reduced the wing production manufacturing cycle by 50 percent including a 17 percent reduction in manufacturing time and a 20 percent overall efficiency gain.

TPS is part of Embraer’s Enterprise Excellence program (P3E), which is part of Embraer’s lean business practices. These emphasize process and product improvement and emphasis on quality, consistent delivery timelines, and optimal cost-efficiency. This is all on a pathway to carbon neutrality using 100 percent renewable energy in Embraer's Brazilian operations by 2024.

The Phenom 100EX features a high-tech interior, ergonomic passenger seating, and expanded cockpit legroom via extended seat tracking. Avionics are the Garmin 3000 Prodigy Touch system and include a runway overrun awareness and alerting system, FlightStream 510 wireless gateway, stabilized approach, predictive windshear, and automatic 3D volumetric scanning weather radar with lightening and hail prediction. Powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney Canada PW617F1-E engines (1,730 pounds of thrust, each), the 100EX has a 406-knot high-speed cruise and a four-occupant range of 1,178 nm with NBAA IFR reserves.
