Helicopter show HeliXP begins today at Helipark, a full-service heliport, situated just outside São Paulo. Now in its third year, the two-day event has established itself as South America’s premier rotary wing showcase, benefitting from the city being home to one of the world’s largest helicopter fleets.
The venue utilizes a Helipark hangar for stands, and part of the 750-foot-long patio for static display, while the rest of the runway remains in operation. This facilitates demonstration flights just steps away from the exhibits.
Special attractions this year include an EHang H216-S eVTOL, an afternoon congress on police helicopters (more than 200 operate in Brazil), a four-hour presentation by the country's civil aviation agency ANAC offering a roadmap for certification of repair and manufacture, and an eVTOL webinar with Eve participating live from the show. There are also panels on safety standards and legal risks.
Last year’s HeliXP attracted 5,600 visitors and performed more than 350 demonstration flight operations.
