Climbing Fast introduced its initiative to enhance sustainability in the business aviation sector at NBAA-BACE 2023 and released an inaugural annual report last week at the 2024 edition of the show. Over the past year, the campaign established a dedicated online presence and media outreach, marking each quarter of 2024 with milestones such as a Capitol Hill debut earlier this year.
In Washington, D.C., Climbing Fast presented the aviation industry's sustainability innovations in collaboration with the House Bipartisan Climate Solutions Caucus, furthering the discussion on aviation's role in achieving net-zero emissions.
A panel discussion at the Aero Club of Washington was a second-quarter highlight. It united industry veterans and expanded the campaign's advocacy network. Organizations such as Alpha Eta Rho and EBAA joined the cause, strengthening the campaign's transatlantic reach.
In the third quarter, Climbing Fast shifted its focus to local sustainability efforts and facilitated letters and op-eds by entities including the Kansas State Grange and Illinois Chamber of Commerce. The year culminated with the announcement at NBAA-BACE 2024 that the Canadian Business Aviation Association was joining the campaign as an international partner.
Climbing Fast focuses on policy priorities such as extending the SAF Blender’s Tax Credit and enhancing Department of Transportation funding for sustainable aviation fuel programs. The campaign aims to protect business aviation from regulatory challenges while promoting its sustainability efforts.
