Fraud and cybersecurity were among the more pressing topics addressed by Air Charter Association (ACA) members at its recent Broker-Operator Forum. The event, held in the Czech capital Prague, drew more than 50 industry executives from 15 European countries.

As well as discussing criminal threats to the charter industry and taking advice as to protective measures, the roundtable participants also covered a variety of topics focused on how various regulatory developments are impacting the relationship between brokers and aircraft operators. ACA members were consulted before the event to agree on which topics should go on the agenda.

Eva Langhammer, a senior official with the Czech Republic’s civil aviation authority, provided a regulator’s perspective in the panel discussions. She urged companies to engage more directly with EASA to have a greater say on issues affecting the air charter sector.

Among the companies represented at the forum were JetBee, IW Aviation, Nordic Air Brokers, Atmospherica Aviation, Le Bas International, Simply Jet, Ascend Airways, Avico, JSK, and Time Air.

“ACA is grateful to all attending members whose support and engagement is vital to the continued success of our broker and operator forums,” said the association’s chair, Kevin Ducksbury. “The event provides an excellent opportunity for members to come together to discuss pressing concerns facing the charter industry and delivers valuable insight, both for members and the association.”
